The Sand Shifting Star - Archaster typicus, is a species that'll spend most of the day and night buried beneath the substrate or sandbed, munching away on a manner of macro-fauna, algaes, detritus, left over foods.
A tan brown/sandy colour broken up with mottled lines and splotches of brown or blacks.
It's not actually fully known or understood what the dietary needs of this species are. So it is highly recommended (like most Stars) that they go into a mature reef system, at least 6 months in age.
ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR A COMPLETELY NEW SET UP! WILL STARVE AND DIE IN UNMATURED SYSTEMS.
